- Is sedation required? What is the urgency?
- Are there other options? (Eg regional anaesthesia, General anaesthetic in OT)
- Assessment of risk / suitability procedural sedation and weighing this vs benefit of a timely procedure.
- How do I safely prepare my patient, area equipment and team for procedural sedation?
- How do I have a meaningful consent discussion without scaring my patient to death!
- How do I safely provide procedural sedation and deal with potential complications?
