Resuscitation - Know the Algorithms!
Running a resuscitation well is one of the great challenges of emergency medicine. It is a great test of your leadership and communication skills as well as your ability to prioritise and make decisions under pressure. While you may not have led a resuscitation yet,you can be sure that as a new registrar you will be 'thrown in the deep end' at 3am with your consultant half an hour away. ALS algorithms need to be brain stem knowledge so you can free up cognitive space for decision making. Know the algorithms. Practice them. Be Slick.
